JUNE
Been busy as hell this past month, boards for ROME, decks for MANIK, working on big project with COLOR this summer too, always some LIFETIME stuff, and throw in a little FATHME records in there too. Plus one half of the team is off doing their MFA in upstate NY, gotta keep learning folks! Expect more Fighting oriented projects come fall.
Echo Complex Collage Info
We have a work for sale in the new Complex magazine which you can purchase for $50.
There is a picture of it in the photo blog to the right (it's a wheel of burnt matchsticks). The print is a xerograph (photocopy), and is 36" x 36" in size. Edition of 50. If you're interested, please contact us. Hopefully we'll be putting up a "Prints for Sale" section soon!
Fathme European Tour
The Teknoist(UK) and Eustachian (Fathme Records) will touring Europe this Spring.
The Teknoist & Eustachian
Pillaged and Plundered Tour
Europe 2008
22nd Mar - May 30th
For more info go
here.
I'm sure it will be very destructive... hopefully even a little dangerous.
Creature Skateboards x Fighting Projects
We designed a deck for Creature this past summer, a gnarly b/w scene of John Bonham and Keith Moon in a king of spades type position battling hell demons and stormy skies. They're limited to 500, hand signed, and each deck comes with a Creature x Fighting matchbook. Just got to see the printed decks for the first time yesterday, everything looks great, I'm stoked! Pick it up at your local harshmart.
Boards
Those Burton boards can now be found
online or in a ton of stores. Next year, you will see Burton boards with our work on them and they will be much more 'of our ilk'. Have a happy Thanksgiving.
And also, have a look at
Momument Snowboards - their entire line is an artist series, directed by Chris Glancy, and so most of the boards are pretty radical. We haven't received the product yet, but I'm sure their going to look tits on!
Next..
So our Seattle exhibit "Different Strokes" is officially down now, but certain pieces are still available through the gallery, check out www.weareokok.com for more info.
In other news Niall will be moving bases and working out of Toronto starting Dec.1st, expect to see some interesting collaborative projects with Jer Jansen from stitchphoto.com in the following months.
One more thing, the Burton Seven Series boards we designed last year arrived yesterday and I'm pretty stoked about them, some grimy, colourful, eye candy. Keep an eye out for them!
Website Update
Hollee lord m'boy, It's been a good long while now since we've had a site worth looking at, but here she is: simple and enought content to tide you over no guff. There's a news and a photo blog on this here front page, and it will get new content now that we're up for it, and also I know how to update the site so that's a bonus. Grreat; show's still up in Seattle at
OKOK Gallery until the start of November, and Lukas is heading back to Toronto for Hallowe'en. That's the news.
"Different Strokes"
We will be exhibiting a collection of our work as Fighting as well as some individual pieces, at OKOK Gallery in Seattle this september.

FecalFace
Check out FecalFace.com this week for mini-interviews with both us and a slew of other participants in the FecalFace 7.5 year anniversary exhibit at 111 Minna in SF, opening this thursday. Get there early or .... or... well it'll be really packed so get there early to get a good clear view of the work and then stay on cause it looks like a parrrrty!
We will not be present unfortunately with other projects and geographical considerations making it quite tricky to negotiate our way down there to that rad little city.
Regardless of our absence we are both very pleased to be participating and hope the opening is killer despite the lack of our glowing selves.
www.fecalface.com, son.
Right On
Soooooo...
Lukas is now living in NY and Niall is Living in Vancouver, we're currently keeping super busy working together on a variety of commercial projects and preparing for an exhibit this september in Seattle at OKOK gallery.
If you are in SF later this month check out the FecalFace anniversary exhibit where Lukas and myself will be showing our own individual work that's outside of the Fighting umbrella.
Take a look for our six page spread in the new Lowdown magazine and our deck and matches set out this august with Creature Skateboards, its gnarlsville son.

These days...
Lukas and I are going to NY tomorrow to paint this big mural for a group show here: www.markjamesgallery.com, we'll be there for 10 days... something like that, i need to fucking relax and work away from home for a minute.
I was asked to do some drawing at this Adidas/Vice party last night, a bunch of folks turned up and we were all just pumping out neat shit all night long, it kinda felt like highschool. oh yeah, i nearly got into a fight with some dude... it was retarded and he was l-a-m-e, just some schmoe, but a tough guy friend of mine gave him a few choice words and he cleared out pretty quickly. fucking 'tard.
also, i worked a bunch last year with Kalle Lasn, he's the guy who runs/started/owns Adbusters Media, I would go in and kinda hang out with him for a few hours at a time and draw stuff we were talking about. He was rad, and totally old! I think he's swiss? whatever, he's a fucking character. anyways, he just put out his new book Design Anarchy and its a thick motherfucker, like a goddam encyclopedia. The production quality is pretty bonkers, and the art direction and design are pretty unique too. I have a bunch of drawings in it, ie. i didn't have to pay for a copy! i'm sure it'd cost a few dimes.
Lastly, you need to check out the new Color mag, we did a nice wide illustration for the High On Fire interview, super dense stuff. Chris Allen did a total design makeover for it and he's got skills, so watch out for it, best issue yet I'm predicting.
Short Trip
We just got back from a trip to NY this weekend, saw Dylan, Ryan, Doug, Sarah, Liz, Robin, Nick, Janna... fuck, too many folks. We also got to check out PS1, which has a dope Wolfgang Tillman show up, also Tim Barber happened to be having his Tiny Vices(know his site? www.tinyvices.com, s'good) oppening on saturday so we checked that out too, lotsa familiar vancouver faces showing, it was packed to the tits. We're going back in about 2 months for this group show ditty, look for it.
New Studio
We just got a new home at Dundas and Rusholme!
G'yeah boy.
Fighting Spring 06
We have our Spring shirts designed.
Interested?
Email us for the line sheet.
Hssssp...
kokanee/Vice
A little while back I was asked to design a beer can along with Andy Dixon, Andrew Pommier, Fontski, and Karen Klassen. So tonight Vice and Kokanee are throwing a party(free beer) for the release of the series, its at the Silkhaus(keefer and main-ish) in Vancouver. Andy Dixon did some installation work for it, I'm pretty curious about that, his work is dope. I won't be there cause I'm in Toronto, I always seem to miss this shit. It should be fun despite the hip fucks inside with scarves and attitude and the young overly self-aware girls snappin' party flicks. Still, free beer right? That's what I'm saying. And you get to see a poster size print out of my can design, at least you could see it if they have any lights on it. not likely. I'll probably be drinking BOH. Sorry.
Rammer
We went to the cd release show last night, it was colder than a witches tit but they ruled the rulers, rammer is tight.
Goon Pack
I'm gonna be in a group show at GoonPack(vancouver) on sat. feb 11th, shuold be good, some of the other artists getting down with this are Nick Pittman, Chris Allen, Andrew Pommier, Scott Pommier, Sandro Grisson, Bob Kronbauer, Dylan Doubt, Ephka, and a bunch more folk on top of that. Should be fun. The Owners of GoonPack are super nice. It's on Cordova, around Abbott, just look for the dope green(that should be an actual colour name) neon sign. I love that sign.
Power, Mystery, and the Hammer of the Gods.
New site for us, thanks Janek.
Vancouver
i'm going to vancouver tomorrow.
